| A qualified environmental expert and also herpetologist. Hanyeh Ghaffari is a PhD student (Department of Environment & Energy, Science & Research Campus, IAU) and her educational background includes M.S. degree in Environmental Science from Azad University, science and research branch. Her research interests include pond turtles especially soft shell turtles. For more than 7 years she has been working on Rafetus euphraticus and its habitat in Iran. She is member of IUCN/SSC Tortoise And Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group. As a member of the TFTSG, She is a member of the IUCN/SSC, the largest of the six volunteer commissions of IUCN.
Hanyeh got five INTERNATIONAL GRANTS from CRF (Chelonian Research Foundation), TCF (TURTLE CONSERVATION FUND) , SSAR (Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles), GEF (The Global Environment Facility's Small Grants Programme ) and also RSGs ( Rufford
Small Grants for Nature Conservation ) . She has recently begun working
with RSGs. The project involves Public Awareness, Education and Research
for Protection Euphrates Soft-Shell Turtle in Khuzestan Province of
